ASTA-MANGALA (EIGHT AUSPICIOUS LUCKY SYMBOLS)

ASTA-MANGALA

EIGHT AUSPICIOUS LUCKY SYMBOLS

Shree-Vatsa (Endless knot):-
Word Shree-Vatsa has two words combined. Word Shree came from word Stri which means female. Shree is also a name of goddess Laxmi. Goddess Shree is goddess of compassion, patience, wealth, prosperity and success. Word Batsa means a beloved person. Shree-Vatsa means beloved of goddess Shree. Shree-Vatsa looks like an endless knot. Endless knot is a symbol of our way of life which is continuously going, some part of life in good time and some in bad time one after another. In any situation of our life we should follow Buddha’s path such as generosity, morality, patience, effort, concentration and wisdom.
It is a kind of loop in which we are bounded. We are bounded in endless terms of rebirth cycle in this suffering world. Because of five poisons like ignorance, desire, jealousy and pride we are bounded in this web of love or wheel of life. Keeping faith in Buddha’s path and self good efforts can give success in this wheel of life.

Pundarika (Lotus):-
Pundarika means a lotus. It is a symbol of purity, renunciation and divinity. Lotus grows in muddy pond but it is not stained, it stays pure white. Even though there are many bad people who are troubling an innocent person, he should be polite, kind, sympathy for their ignorance and should never go against others. Then there will not create any reason to trouble more. It is hard but the person   should keep patience until those bad people realize their mistakes. After they will begin to love him too same as a lotus makes the pond divine too. We should always put good thoughts in our mind. We have to be as a lotus so that god will sit on our mind which means peaceful mind.

Dhwoja (Flag/Banner):-
Dhwoja means a flag. It is a symbol of victory over all kinds of delusions and also a symbol of identity.
When Buddha was doing meditation, Mara (god of obstacles) came in front of him and said that he was a foul to left his kingdom, family and comfortable life. Buddha was not affected by any delusions. Then Mara surrendered to Buddha and said that he was a great person to win Mara. But Buddha was not proud for his job. Buddha’s flag is a symbol of victory over delusions and symbol of peace.

Kalasha (Vase):-

In special ceremonies Kalasha is firstly established to call gods and goddesses. It should be filled with pure and fresh water. Inside it we should put five different metals or jewels. On the top we have to put fragrant flowers. When we do long and special journey we have to put Kalasha in both sides of main door for making good luck. We have to wish for good and successful journey.
In ancient time in occasion of “Samudra Manthan”(churning ocean) gods and demons invented wish-fulfilling tree and Kalasha from ocean which was filled with nectar of immortality. Roots of the tree are in the nectar. Nectar generates desired things so, Kalasha is also a treasure.

Chhatra (Umbrella):-
Chhatra means an umbrella. It is a symbol of protection. It protects from heat of the sun and rain. It is used for gods and kings as a ritual object. Person who follows Buddha’s teachings are protected from all kinds of sufferings and gets peace and happy life. As hot sun and cold rain makes us ill, bad thinking and tensions make us suffer. Person who thinks and hopes good in all things are always protected by Buddha.

Shankha (Conch shell):-
Shankha means a conch shell. It is a symbol of a pure sound which awakes ignorant people to enlightenment. Clock wise curled conch shells are special and rare. It has a powerful vibrating sound which gives life to our whole body. Same as dew can fresh our body. Sankha makes sound of “OM”. This is a sound of dharma which generates good feelings. Person who blows it should be good in blowing. It is used in some temples to awake all people from sleeping and to call devotees in god’s refuge. Sound of shankha is also used to scare away evil things.

Note: - In Tibetan Buddhism, they use Chakra as a lucky symbol instead of Chamara.

Text on Arts and artifacts of Newari Temples in Nepal

The Super Natural Beings: Gandharva, Yaksha, Kinnara, Naga
Except the ordinary living beings on earth there are also some super natural beings. In Nepal we believe on god, demon and their magical powers. We believe that magical world is hiding somewhere inside this land or connected to another world. In ancient time this land used to be residing place of gods. May be this is the reason that here are many religious sites and still believed as a powerful place.
In Nepal all super natural beings are classified into eight or nine types. Those are in the following serial.
1.       Gods:
Gods are celestial beings who look after all creatures in universe. Gods are fortunate they get all    glory and fame.
2.       Demigods or Demons:
Demigods or Demons are hell dwellers who do hard work, get pain and stay in misery. Demons are misfortunate because they do not get equal feedback from their good work.
3.       Gandharvas:
Gandharvas are also celestial beings who look after the arts, music, creative works and protection of gods. In this group females are called “Apsara” who are divine beauties. Their work is to support male Gandharvas for singing, dancing, decorating and serving as per need.
4.       Type 1 Yakshas / Yachhyas of natural beauties:
Yakshas are super natural beings that are able to transfer into nature and human. who are created by gods, demi-gods and also made by tantrism. They are made for protecting natural beauty and property. So, they are fierce, wild. Female of Yakshas are said as Yakshis. Yakshis looks after on developing and decorating nature. Some divine natural beauties such as mountains, glacier, lake, trees, forest, flower gardens, house etc. are unseeingly protected and owned by yaksha and yakshis. These are incredibly beautiful.
5.       Type 2 Yakshas/ Yachhyas of creatures:
These are super natural beings that are able to transfer into creatures and human. They have god gifted powers to protect their groups and can interact with god. Some tantric people also practice for disguising into many forms by the grace of gods and demigods. There are many creatures such as fish, horse, wolf, lion, monkey, boar etc. There is a legend in Tibet and Nepal that mythical animals used to reside in Tibet. Yetis are still believed to be in High Mountains.
6.       Garudas:
These are super natural beings that are able to transfer into eagle or vulture and human. They have god gifted powers to see all the activities of universe from far above the sky. They protect from potential harm by eliminating poisonous snakes and can interact with god and humans being a messenger.
7.       Kinnaras:
These are super natural beings that are able to transfer into birds and human. They have god gifted powers to chatter fluently as birds and sing fluently as humans. Not only that but also they are skillful to create their house, help people by knitting and weaving. There is a legend in Tibet that mythical cranes used to make precious cloths.
8.       Nagas:
These are super natural beings that are able to transfer into snakes and human. They reside inside       the earth and know the hidden water source inside earth. They help people to bring water pipes from water resource to the required or summoned place. They are also dancers in a human form.
9.       Mahoraga:
These are huge serpents that hold this land because they live for thousands of years and for hundreds of years they sleep. In the meantime, there forms civilization above them on the land. If they are disturbed or harmed, there cause a land deformation. They are protector of land because they do not harm civilization unless they are harmed.
Except these super natural beings there are also some creatures that are created by fusion of multiple creatures’ qualities.
a.       Malah: Malah in Newari language that are dragons. Those are also like the serpents of sky that have qualities of flying, crawling, scratching, cutting, firing, thundering and grabbing. There are four types of dragons classified by Newars in Nepal and those are Vajra Malah (Thunder), Mi Malah (Fire), Pa Malah (Axe), Gonga Malah (Cock). Dragons have multi types of heads, claws like of eagle or cocks and wings in their four limbs.

b.      Kun-Sala: Kun-Sala in Newari language that is tantric made dragons, made by tantrism. Those are used as armies in battles and ride as a horse. This may be the reason to say it as a horse. There are four types of them too. They have faces like sheep, eagle, lion and dragon with horns and without horns too. Paws are like of lions. Wider and bigger wings than of dragons. They are guarding temples in Nepal. Kun-Sala directly means like a corner-horse in English but we also consider it as swift evil eliminator.

c.       Boh-Sala: Boh-Sala in Newari language that are flying horse. This horse has large wings like of eagles and vultures. This is symbolic vehicle of Ratna sambhava Buddha. This creature is the fastest deliverer and swift trouble shooter.

d.      Makara: Makara is a special creature with multiple qualities. It has a lion head with a trunk and tusk of elephant. Horn of a sheep. Body of fish with scales on it. It has two legs of lion. It is seen with eagle claws instead of lion legs in a form of Thunder Dragon. Two wings attached on the legs. It has long and elegant tail feathers as of a phoenix. This creature is also said as a crocodile in astrology. This creature’s image is always carved as a water emitter on stone taps of Kathmandu valley. This is the creature that vomits precious ornaments, jewels, and provides water.

Justifying the balance in universe:
This universe is supposed to be a triangular machine or vehicle that delivers us to destinations. We divide this triangle into three parts. At the bottom it has bigger space that is controlled by sorrow where demons live. Middle part of the triangle is for people and other creatures, where there is combination of sorrow and joy. Top part is small in portion and that is for gods where is sour of fortune. For the balance of pleasure and sorrow for everyone this triangle is spinning so that, there comes a turn to each and every creature to be in their chosen place. For spinning process demons do big or hard efforts. After doing all hard work they get chance to be human or other creatures. Being human and other creatures they have to help each other so that they become in god state. Demons are also said demigods for their unequal contribution and effort to process the universal activities. All creatures and all gods and demigods are important and have to be respected equally. Though it looks unbalanced in the formation of heaven, earth and hell we can still see some kind of balance and equality in it in the following way or example. Gods are respectable in form of elderly people who have past their whole life doing hard works and they need pleasurable time. Gods or Angels are also soft, adorable, charming in form of young children. They also need much of love and protection. Demons are independent strong and brave enough by their nature so that they can work hard and also can bear intense suffer to achieve their goals. Human beings are dependent but wise who can use their knowledge and effort to achieve their goals. For easier example, a tall man (symbolizing demon) do not need any help to climb up the wall. Even if he is not tall he is capable of jumping and climbing. A normal man who is wise can use a ladder to climb up the wall. Others like child, olds and disables (symbolizing god) needs someone who carry them. In this way everyone can climb the wall.

Joy of Heaven:
Heaven is the place full of joy and also the place of being in well manner, being compassionate to all and being responsible for protecting and caring entire universe. Formation of entire universe and its universal activities are experienced for joy and pleasure. These joy and pleasures are offered to the gods in heaven. Those gods are purified form of same demons and people. There are sixteen divine beauties (Apsaras) that perform music, dance, singing and other offering activities in the heaven. Those offerings and performances are sixteen joyful moments or results of universal activities for which it is said as Sodasha Lasya. Those dancing performances are still sacredly performed by Bajracharyas in Kathmandu valley. It is still performed in a ceremonial way. All sixteen offering goddesses have sixteen different mantras that are very meaningful. In the following ways they do recitation of mantras in the melodious tone.
1.       Vajra veene hûm: All the ups and downs experience in universal activities which affect our self-mind are in actually in the harmonious way same like in playing Veena (Musical instrument like Sitar). It is a process for convincing self.

They consider for flexibility, kindliness, calmness in pleasant dances; stiffness, anger feelings in unpleasant dances. While standing or sitting they use three-bending angle position for which they say Tri-Banga. This position has special meaning and reason. This position gives nourishment to our body which gives balanced flowing of positive energy and working power to three zones of body. These three zones are feet to hip joints; hip to shoulder joint; neck base to the head. Bending these joints looks unusual but it gives relax and nourishment to the internal organs. Bottom zone is hell where thick strong blood is active that bear the weight of whole body. Middle zone is earth which process food, gives nourishment to body and separate manure. Top zone is heaven where positive energy stores and this positive energy keep us well-mannered.

Newari Architectures of temples and houses in Nepal:
Newari Arts and crafts are richly used in architectures of Nepal in spiritual way for making place more comfortable and peaceful. Their science and art of constructing the temples is eco-friendly and they have used their skill for balancing five elements too. They are conscious for peacefulness and prosperous of living people. They use special plasters mixing fine under earth clay (Kan-cha), sharp fine sand and black lentil for strong bond; rice and wheat husk for keeping warm and balancing wet and dry; cow-dung and red soil to keep disinfect house from insect and germs. They also use special oil fortified bricks for water proofing. There are many types of bricks which they make in different technics. Mostly temples are constructed of wood for the framework.
To make a specific temple, Bajracharyas do study of the related gods or goddesses. They decide for specific floors for the specific god’s power which is based on stories or past events. They also use chakra system of body to make floors of temples. Categories of Five Buddhas

Pancha buddha: Five Buddhas, five elements and meanings.

Text on Vairochana Buddha

Vairochana Buddha:
Vairochana means finest, purest and spotless. Or Vailochana means fine wise eye. He is just like a filter which can filter our mind to get finer and purified. He is also like a wise eye to do justify for good.
He is awakened and aware Buddha. He is pure and finest form of Buddha. He is the wisdom of all pervasive wisdom (Newari Sanskrit: Suvisuddha Gyan). He knows all dimensional wisdoms of entire universal activities. He is said as the youngest Buddha among five Buddha because he came at the last to purify all the wisdom. He is also described that he is born in Buddha family and became lord of Buddha land because all the past wisdoms are parent of this Buddha from which he filtered and made it pure wisdom. Because of this Buddha all activities became meaningful and worthy.
His cool and pure wisdom is glowing gloriously and radiantly as moon. As the moon is reflected light of Sun, wisdom of awareness is also reflected from entire process of universal activities. He knows all the past happened activities and taken lessons from it so that he is determined to be pure and true in present and future. Moon is useful in the night time. Entire universe is created for experiencing and to gain wisdom.
He knows all types of knowledge of meritorious works and sinful works so he is aware from going to sinful works and determined to perform meritorious work. He lives in every creature as the soul in the awakened form. He is determined to make all creatures pure and clean and peaceful.
He is water element to wash away all illusion of ignorance and to purify all creatures' mind. Water is always pure and used for making others pure. Water takes away all dirt and makes everybody clean and self becomes clean after evaporation. Water is present in all three states such as solid when it freezes, liquid when it is normal and gas when it is heated. He is also said as a lord of justice, duty, virtue and merit. He does right judgment for all creatures equally. This is only one purest Buddha without any faults and sin. Being aware and awaken is only one option to be free from dirt like sin; there is no other alternative of it. This is the real peaceful stage of soul and it is possible only from the wisdom.
In our daily life, the pure and awakened form of soul or wisdom is in the morning time after we wake up from the deep sleep. In this time our mind is pure, peaceful and sinless. Our mind is always playful so it does not want to remain in silent. We always have to control our playful mind. It is very hard to control but our experiences of past will always guide us to be in truth and peace. Truth gives us courage to defeat all poisons like ignorance, passion, eagerness. Then, we can live our life conveniently and without fear.
He is riding on Simha (mythical lion). Lion is a guard of Dharma who protects truth and punishes lies. He is symbolized by Dharma chakra because all dimensional knowledge which he got is from the wheel or cycle of activities. All dimensional knowledge means he has knowledge of every direction such as four directions, four corner directions, upward and downward direction. It also means he has knowledge of all possible creatures of sky, earth and water. He has knowledge of king to beggar and same as oldest creatures to youngest creatures, living and non living beings. He has knowledge of the earth, heaven and hell. His body color is pure white.
He is placed at the centre of the stupa as the soul of stupa. He is also kept at south east corner in Swoyambhunath stupa. He is represented by tongue as a sensational organ which can taste. Text on Ratna Sambhava Buddha

Ratna Sambhava Buddha:
Ratna is a precious wish fulfilling jewel. Sambhawa means possibility and fulfillment. If we split Sama + bhaava, then sama means equal and bhaawa means feelings. So, sambhawa also equally love to all. He is born from jewel for the purpose of wish fulfillment of all creatures equally.
He is wisdom of equality (Newari Sanskrit: Samata Gyan). It teaches us that we have to love each other because all of the creatures are children of nature. Our soul comes from same sky/space (father) and we have body from same soil/earth (mother). As we come to this earth we are involved in universal magical drama. While we are living in the material world we have family, relatives, friends and also enemies but after death all souls and body reunites to same nature family. All creatures have only one family so that we have to love each other and do not need to fight or hate anyone. Universal activities make us in illusion of love and hate. All we see and happen in this world makes illusion in our mind.
He is earth element among five elements of nature.  Earth is precious jewel because it has ability to give us whatever we need. First we born from this soil then we have food, shelter and protection in this earth. Earth is versatile and capable to grant us a boon. For example it gives us sugarcane for sweet taste and ginger for spice taste. He gives varieties of whether, seasons and climate. He gives material comforts and also spiritual peacefulness. He is only one favored god who fulfils every ones' any types of desire. He fulfils by all types of means and ways. He is only one device which is used to make any types of devices for making our life comfortable and pleasant. All types of progress people have done are just utilized from this earth. He takes good care of all creatures as a family. He is parent of all. He knows every ones' desire and always trying to fulfill them. He is compassionate to all and behaves equally. Earth is the place where all types of wisdoms are performed and experienced. It is fulfillment of all desires.
This Buddha gives us knowledge to donate or to help people each others. Giving or doing something good to others give us satisfaction and pleasure. This quality gives us merit to win over the poison like pride or ego. Donation becomes meaningful if we do it in clean mind. We should not expect any returns and results for our good work. We should not donate for our pride and ego. This Buddha is away from pride and ego.
This Buddha is riding on a flying horse. Flying horse is delivering to the destinations of people’s wishes. This horse is flying in the space same as earth is rotating and revolving in the space. All creatures like day after night and then night after day. Day is needed for duties and night for taking rest. Same as weathers and seasons are good when they are changing.  So, this Buddha is trying to make us comfortable.

He is precious for all so he is symbolized by the plant of precious jewel. His body color is yellow as gold. It is said that bright yellow color was transmitted from the jewel to his body. He is placed in the south of stupa. He is facing towards south.  He is represented by Body or skin as a sensational organ which can feel touching. His right hand is in varada mudra. Varada means donating and wish fulfilling.

Text on Amogha-siddhi Buddha

Amogha-siddhi Buddha:
Amogha has two words combined such as A and mogha. Mogha means useless and failings and if we keep A before mogha it becomes opposite meaning. Then it means from use less to usefulness and unfailing. Amogha and Vishnu means same thing. Vishnu is made by Vish and Anu. Vish means poison or useless and Anu means nectar or useful. Vishnu is the god who makes impossible to possible. Siddhi means accomplishment, achievement and perfection. Amogha siddhi means unfailing achieved wisdom.
He is all accomplishing wisdom (Newari sanskrit: Krityanusthan Gyan). He is Buddha of air element. Air is always moving which never stops. Air makes our mind playful. It brings happiness or sadness anytime suddenly. Mind is so playful that it plays all types of thinking, imaging, planning etc. It is playing on all types of good and bad subjects. It has power to change good to bad and bad to good. We should always choose for good one. It can make us god by good thinking, compassion, mercy and patience. It can spoil us as demon as anger, jealousy, pride, envy etc. It can teach us from the knowledge of past happened, awareness, suggestion etc. It can take care as parents by protecting us from dangers. Air element begins the activity to achieve knowledge.
Perfection is possible only if we are experiencing. Experiencing is not an easy job. We have to try again and again until we get succeed. Even though we lose we have to take knowledge from it so that we can improve it for next time. This Buddha always gives us new chances to be good. As parents give pardon to their children for any mistakes, if someone repents from his mistake then this Buddha gives opportunities to change from bad to good. All the duties are opportunities to gain merit and to be good. Whenever we get chance to do good for others we have to do it same time without selfishness.
This Buddha is taking care of all creatures as his children. He is teaching and showing us good paths to get peace and pleasure. But some children do not listen to parental guiding and teaching. So, he is very patient that any time the children repent from the mistake he gives pardon and new chance to follow good path. Some children want to learn by experiencing themselves. After they do mistake he again tries to teach them and does not blame them. They may become in good after. Parent always hopes for good.
He is Buddha of activities so he is symbolized by vishwa vajra. He is always practicing for accomplishing the wisdom. He knows all dimensional knowledge. He is gaining knowledge by experiencing. He knows wisdom of being gods, demons, teacher and parents and all. Whatever we make in our mind we are practicing for achieving it. Universal activity is the maker of all Buddhas because he gives life to lifeless essence. Activity of breathing gives sensation to our soul to wake up from sleep.
This world is the best of all possible worlds. All activities are happening for being best. We have to hope for good always. It is better to adjust or adapt in this world. We can find heaven after doing good works and hell doing bad works in this world.  So, our purpose should be for being good from bad.

He is placed in the north of stupa. He is facing towards north. He is riding on Garuda (Mythical Vulture) who can see poisonous snake from far distance. He is only one Buddha that sits on multi headed snake bed. This means he finds the way to be comfortable even in the unfavorable conditions. Positive thinking keeps us comfort, content and happy. Garuda and snake is a big enemy but they are together with this Buddha. If snake harms the innocents then Garuda punishes the snake. This also means that even though our mind is thinking positive and negative, we have to decide for positive thinking. He is represented by nose as a sensational organ which can smell. And which is used for breathing. His right hand is in Abhayavara mudra which means granting for no danger and fear. He is always protecting all the innocents. He is also protecting all those people who repent from their mistakes.

Text on Amitabha Buddha

Amitabha Buddha:

Amitabha is made of two words such as Amit and Bhaskar. Amit means never finishing and Bhaskar means sun or light. Word Amit is developed from word Amrita. Amrita means never dying and substitute word for life. Amrita is nectar which gives life to a death. Amitabha Buddha means limit less light of wisdom. We also say him Amritambhava Buddha as he has given the life to the existence or world. This is the state of mind full of desires and rising energy to observe the world. Most respectful and most valuable state of all desire is to be compassionate to all. Realization of self-life or living is said as one of the five great state of mind. For that we named it Amitabha Buddha. Since we named it as a Buddha, I have addressed as He for this wisdom.
He is the source of wisdom whose infinitive bright light is expanding into entire universe. He is also said as nectar, he is spreading his nectar to everywhere give us energy to work. He is a life or awakened. He has never finishing nectar like wisdom which he is showing to all creatures. This means till we have life we have many possibilities or hopes.
He is light or fire element. He is also said as the Sun. He is said as an eye of entire universe because his light made all creatures able to see the wonderful world. This light illuminated all colors and became visible to our eyes. He made self-identification and others identification. He is the maker of day so that all creatures can do progress, experience and prepare for feeding. All the progress is possible only from the light of wisdom. This wisdom we get from concentration. Meditation is the way to gain concentration.
He has wisdom of discriminating or observation. He is appeared in empty dark space to observe self or entire universe. He is observing all good and bad happening of Nature. For the purpose of liberating creatures from the sufferings of universal activities he is looking with his compassionate eyes. He is the Buddha who is taking good care and looking all creatures graciously, so he is the compassionate Buddha. By the help of this Buddha or his wisdom Avalokiteshowra or Karunamaya became Buddha of compassion. All the sufferings are caused by ignorance which is like darkness so he is destroying all activities of lust, envy, anger, pride, ignorance, aversion and passion. Being light of wisdom he became teacher of all creatures. He is life after the death. He is the day after the night. Life gains everything whereas death loses everything.
This Buddha is riding on a peacock. Peacocks have sparkling feathers all around their body. Its spreading beautiful tail feathers are admired by others same as sun or light of wisdom is admired by entire universe. The sun changes darkness into the light, in the same way peacock can eat poisonous plants and change it into beautiful feathers.
He is symbolized by lotus because he is looking entire universe and its living beings compassionately. He is placed in the west of Stupa. He is facing towards west direction. He is represented by an eye as a sensational organ which can identify everything and everybody. He is meditating to gain knowledge about entire universe.

Text on Achhyobhya Buddha

Achhyobhya Buddha:
Acchyobhya is made from two words such as A and chhyobhya. Chhyobhya means disturb and when we join A, it becomes Achhyobhya. Then it means not disturbed or peaceful. Thought or wisdom of calmness is said as one of the five great state of mind. For that we named it Achhyobhya Buddha. Since we named it as a Buddha, I have addressed as He for this wisdom.
He is mirror like wisdom. For making our life easier we have to understand ourselves. First I should know myself. Who am I? What is my morality? How I behave with others? What I have done to others? Then we can understand whatever I have done or behaved to others gave same behavior to me. God is just like a mirror whatever we decide for others god decides for us. All effects are the results of causes. If we clean hatred and anger from our mind we will not be hated by others. If someone still hates, it is not your fault. God Vajrapani is always protecting all innocent people who are in peaceful path. If we do work for peace, for all people we will not need to fear with anyone. We do not destroy others so that we are not destroyed.  Mirror like wisdom explains us to see inside of self before you see of others. Please do not judge in others mistakes if we do that it will make us arrogant. It will make us feel that we are only the best person of this place, all others are useless. It is good to see goodness of all so that it will create good world for living. Anger and hatred with others can harm others and self too. We are in loss anyways. We have to live and let others live.
He is also wisdom of emptiness. He is expanded into entire universe as emptiness. He lives in all living beings as their soul. Emptiness is only one purified form of knowledge which is without any sin. Wisdom of emptiness is indestructible and unchangeable truth which can liberate us from all pains and grief; which can remove all sins; which can solve all our problems; sets free from all difficulties; gives us fearlessness and give us great peace. Emptiness generates and re-generates to all types of knowledge automatically. Space is the resource of soul.
He is the most peaceful and indestructible form of Buddha. Properties of this essence or the soul is empty, it is deep sleeping stage of all creatures. No one can see its' formation even though it is expanded in to entire universe. Soul itself is without any knowledge of sin and merit. It has no good quality and nor bad quality. It is innocent and simple. It has no me, mine, you and yours. It is selfless and unconscious. That is why it is said as emptiness.
Entire universal activities are changing every moment but the space remains unchangeable. It is in the most peaceful stage. This soul is divided and transferred into varieties and numerous bodies/creatures to experience universal activities to gain wisdom of self being. After the time finishes experiencing it reunites into the family of soul that is space. It can remain on wisdom of emptiness or experience all dimensional knowledge.
All creatures like to be in peaceful and pleasant time after being busy for whole day. So people sleep at night, some time we dream which is virtual world to experience. It also gives pleasant and sorrow in our mind even though it is not in reality. State of sleep while dream disappears into emptiness gives us peacefulness. This is deep sleep stage of soul which is the real properties of soul. In this stage we forget all universal activities and its effects. We get relief from pain and grief. It is detached from illusion of universal formation. We even do not know that we are in peaceful and pleasant time because it is without any knowledge and consciousness. We feel it was pleasant time after we wake up from deep sleep. After being awakened this emptiness is also said as wisdom. Everyone needs this deep sleep for being healthy and refreshing our mind. Same way we need wisdom of constancy or steadiness to get undisturbed from universal activities. We have to develop our mind to accept the things as there are in the surroundings. There are many things which are not possible to change. If we are not happy with that we try numerous times but still remain same problem. This situation can trouble both sides, one who is trying to change other and another who is being disturbed. For both this useless effort creates anger and lefts mental dissatisfactions like depression and numb. Getting away from universal activities is also going to Moksha or Nirvana. Moksha means destruction of affection or attachments. Nirvana means without any arrows of desires or attachments.
He is space element. Space is dark in color and it is in peaceful state. Space is dark it symbolize ignorance but this Buddha is Dark blue in color which symbolize rising for enlightenment. He has elephant as his vehicle. It is able to stay in peace and no one can disturb him from being peaceful. He is symbolized by Vajra. Vajra symbolize strength. He is placed in the east of stupa. He is facing towards east.  He is represented by an ear as a sensational organ which can hear. His right hand is in Bhumi sparsa mudra. It means Earth touching. He is touching this earth for making earth and its living creatures peaceful.
